Two Ministry Team Announcements
Dear friends,
I'm delighted to announce two new appointments on our Ministry Team. Mthr Jenny Krige, an existing member of the team, has been appointed to the role of Assistant Priest for Families and Children and Stephanie Alvis, has recently joined the team as an ordinand.
Associate Priest for Families and Children has been made possible by combined grant funding from the Lady Peel Trust and Ealing Mission Fund. Mthr Jenny brings considerable experience as a priest and school chaplain. She will work closely with the Vicar, Ministry Team and PCC, acting as Sunday pastor to young people and parent volunteers and co-ordinator of this ministry. She says of this new role "I'm looking forward to getting to know the families and children of St Barnabas as we make the exciting journey of faith together. It will be a joy to join in the great work that is already being done by so many creative and talented leaders!"
Stephanie Alvis will be with us for a year on a Sunday placement. Her home church is Oak Tree Anglican Fellowship in Acton. During this time, Stephanie is hoping for hands-on experience of Anglican-Catholic parish life and mission. She joins our other talented ordinands*, Amy Merriman and Robin Griffiths. You can read her introduction message below. *An ordinand is a person in training for the priesthood.
Please pray for Mthr Jenny and Stephanie as they find their feet in these new roles.
With every blessing,
Fr. Justin Dodd - Vicar
A Message from Stephanie Alvis
Hi everyone. I'm Stephanie and I will be joining the Ministry Team at St. Barnabas this year as part of training for ordination. I am currently studying for an MTh in Applied Theology through Wycliffe Hall in Oxford. I also work part time at William Perkin Church of England High School in Greenford. I teach religious education, and am involved in organising and supporting our community worship through assemblies and Holy Communion services, and work with the chaplaincy team. I have always been involved in church - growing up as the daughter of a Baptist minister. I came to find a spiritual home in the Church of England whilst at university studying theology. Since then I have been privileged to be involved as a member and volunteer in a range of churches and, through school, to spend my days talking with young people about faith. I am looking forward to worshipping with you at St. Barnabas, and to learning from the team, as we journey together to 'work out our faith' by serving God as a community.
