July 12th saw 14 people from Pop-In board a minibus bound for Brighton. The black cloud that greeted us as we arrived soon dispersed and we took a stroll on the pier. After coffee, the more intrepid among us, rolled up their trousers and went paddling. Lunch at a café on the beach followed, after which we sampled the delights of the pier amusements; a helter-skelter ride and the carousel to name just two. Others wandered the Lanes and went shopping. Mr Softee ice-creams all round were the order of the day before boarding the bus again and returning home.
