We wondered whether your child(ren) would like to take part in this project?

The idea developed after two children gave an interesting interview on Radio 4 a while ago and set up mydearnewfriend.org  The project has been taken up by the National Literacy Trust who have written about it on their website www.literacytrust.org.uk.   Essentially this started as an idea for linking schools with care homes but is being adapted for our church community , making use of some of the resources on the website to promote clear communication and safety.  

If children would like to sign their art/ letters with their first names, that would be great. If a letter is written, it should begin “my dear new friend”. Replies can be arranged if you wish. Sandra Easton has kindly agreed to receive the replies, so that we can cover safeguarding issues. She will keep the items for 48-72 hours (to be Covid-free) and then deliver to recipient.
